Dr David B Samadi – A Pioneer in the Field of Prostate Cancer Treatment

Dr David B Samadi is a world-famous Urologist and a pioneer in prostate cancer treatment and RALP or Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy which is a type of surgery usually used to treat men with. He has considerable professional and technical expertise in diagnosing prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer and all types of urological disorders that has been serving humankind for years. During his extensive practice at several hospitals, he has already performed more than 800 robotic laparoscopic procedure and 7,000 robotic prostate surgeries. He is a veteran surgeon trained in all three primary areas of surgery like open, robotic and laparoscopic.

He pioneered a new technology called da Vinci robotic system. He is not only an expert himself but also has trained a number of other urologists on da Vinci robotic system which is a revolutionary technique that magnified the surgical field as well as gave a surgeon more visualization, precision and technical dexterity to a large extent. He was born in a Hebrew family in Iran in 1964. Though, due to Iranian Revolution in 1979, only at the age of 15, he, with his younger brother, Dan, was forced to flee his country leaving his parents and younger daughter, Heidi to Belgium. Six months later, they moved to London where they finished up their high school. They finally decided to immigrate to New York, America in 1984.

Samadi completed his first year at the Stony Brook School of Medicine with honours in 1990. Samadi also received a degree in biochemistry. Later, he earned his M.D. in 1994 from S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook School of Medicine. He finished his postgraduate training at Montefiore Medical Center in 1992. In 2001, he gained a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in proctology. He has earned a number of other prestigious degrees and awards.

Additionally, Dr David Samadi is a notable international lecturer who has written a number of masterpieces on various medical issues which include the journal of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, his articles on Urological Oncology, Journal of Robotic Surgery, Journal of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the World Journal of Urology.
